Wow it's been a while. Life is just happening around me. I am running here and there and everywhere.

Monday, November 16, 2009

The boys played in two tournaments on Nov. 7th. They won the football tournament and the basketball tournament. 2 games of each.
Wow, it has really been a while since I wrote. Life is so very, very busy.
Kendall turned 2 yesterday. Can you believe that? It has been so busy I didn't even have her party yet. Such a bad mother! She is talking like crazy. She is doing really well potty training and has been wearing panties!! She loves her Dora panties.
The boys have kept us in ball continuously. Chance is playing 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. He played in 12 games from Thursday to Saturday.
The house is getting closer. We have a couple doing some work for us and they just keep finding things that were done wrong and have to redo. I bought a storm door and asked them to put it up. Well, guess what, the other door wasn't put up correctly so he will have to do some redoing. Ughh! It has been really frustrating. We have carpet coming on the 30th and our furniture coming on Dec. 3rd. I hope we are ready for it. I so want to be in by Christmas. I thought we would be in around the start of school but things have happened.
School is stressful with the group of kids I have. There is always an issue of some kind. Completely opposite of last year. I guess I got spoiled. Well, I better get some rest for tomorrow.

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

The house keeps coming along. We now have a working bathroom. We have been limited to one bathroom for about 3 months now. Thank goodness for another one. The tile has been laid in both bathrooms and area by the back door. I ordered the carpet for the boys' rooms and hallway. I picked out a frieze style that is tan colored with mingled burgundy, blue, and green. Hopefully, it won't show dirt as bad.
The boys have a football game in Russell Co. on Sat. and Chance has his first middle school basketball game on Monday. They haven't called yet for Corey to start practice with little league. I'm sure it won't be too much longer.
Kendall is growing and growing. She keeps talking and talking. She is a climber at the daycare.
School has been a little odd. We have had the flu bug going around. I had 6-8 kids out every day last week and now the 4th grade is being hit this week.

Not a lot new around here. Football, football, football!
Corey had his first game on Sat. He did awesome. We were so proud of him. He has stepped up to be a really good quarterback for his league.
Chance has a game in Larue Co. tomorrow night and Casey Co. at home on Thursday night. Corey has another game on Saturday.
Kendall is doing fine. I took her and got her a new pair of tennis shoes last weekend. It is so hard to find shoes to fit her foot. I had to wind up buying a size 9! Can you believe that? She probably could have worn an 8 but her foot is so wide it wouldn't fit.

Sunday, August 30, 2009

We are continuing to work on the house. The plumber came this weekend and now it is ready to get the drywall finished. The drywall guys are supposed to be here tomorrow.
Kendall is still doing well with using the potty. It is hard when we are on the road going here and there. She pooped in the potty today. She is really putting words together in sentences. She continues to amaze me at the things she does.
Progress notes go out on Tuesday and I haven't put a grade in yet. I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow at school. I tried to log on from home but apparently there is an issue with my computer and it will not bring up my gradebook. That stinks!
Here are a few pictures of the house.

Friday, August 21, 2009

It's been a while since I have had any time to post. It is almost 11:30 now but oh, well, here goes.
Kendall has been trying to potty train. For the past two days, she hasn't wet in her diaper except for nap time while she was at daycare. She has been using it a lot at home also. It is hard for me to be consistent because we are on the road constantly. I think I am going to have to pack a potty in my truck! Ha! (John and Kate Plus 8) But really, I may have to do this. I really don't like public restrooms or port-a-potties.
Chance had his first middle school ball game on Tuesday. He started the 8th grade as quarterback but only played the first half. Their line isn't very strong so the coach took him out so he wouldn't get hurt. Then he started the 7th grade game also. Out of 4 runs he scored 3 touchdowns and out of 3 passes, he passed for 2 touchdowns. He had a really good game.
Corey and Chance both have girlfriends now. Texting has been the main way of communicating. :) It's a good thing they have unlimited text.
I got my hair cut off again last Sat. I also got highlights. It is cut shorter in the back and longer in the front ( that angled cut). I like it alright but it takes much longer to fix.
School has been going. It has been a rough few days. I have 6 kids ready for Time Out on Monday. I have to get things nipped now so it will be a good year. Most of the X's have been for incomplete work. They will just have to realize they are the ones responsible for doing it. We'll see how the rest of the year goes.

Thursday, August 6, 2009

It has been a wild last two days. I started school on Wed. with 26 students in my class. That is a huge change from last year with only 12. Things are going well so far, just trying to get back into the swing of things.
Chance and Corey started at ACES. The adjectives were "fine" from Corey and "alright" from Chance when I asked how the first day went.
Kendall fell into my mom's rosebush and scratched her face up. It bled and had thorns still in it when it happened. But in a few minutes she was ok. Today she was stung by a wasp at the Daycare but was fine from it also. It must be her week to have things happen.
We have run into a problem with the completion of our house. The man doing it has messed up the plumbing and it is going to have to be redone. So, this makes the walls in the bathroom have to be torn down to run the pipes.
Also, he left a sewage line vent open under our house which was letting out fumes which contain methane gas. This was very dangerous for us and we didn't even know it until yesterday. It is fixed now.
The Lord took care of Kendall and I because we had been sleeping really close to where the pipe was at. For some reason that I didn't know, Kendall and I stopped sleeping in that bedroom about a week or two ago. We were sleeping on a mattress in the living room. I guess now I know why but at the time I just decided to do it.
Needless to say, the man is no longer working on our house. There are several other issues but I won't go into them. Well, it will get done just not as soon as I wanted.

Friday, July 31, 2009

Open house went ok the other night. About half of my students came which is a little less than normal. Usually about 4 or 5 don't come. I have 26 kids on my roster as of now. That is a huge change from 12 last year. I guess I knew I had it coming. This is the biggest class I have ever had. 22 was the most.

It has been wild around here this week. Monday, I went to Lowes and bought a trailer load of things for the addition. I bought toilets, interior doors, door knobs, bathroom tile, trim and baseboards, mortar, grout, and other things. I was a little embarrassed when it came to check out time. I think I had about 10 carts/trailers/buggies full of things. I knew I wouldn't have time to get these things when school started.
Tuesday, mom and I took the boys school shopping in Bowling Green. They got several things and should be ready for school to start. They both will need some jeans later on but we are having issues finding the right sizes. Corey needs a 12 for length but a 10 in the waist. Chance needs an 18 for length but a 16 in the waist. Kendall went also and did really well.
Wednesday, I did some more running to get things for the house.
Thursday consisted of three trips to town. Corey had an orthodontist appointment. (He has to get a new retainer since his was stepped on-$95.) Then I took Corey back to town to stay all night with his friend. The last trip was to take Chance and Kel to Open House and football practice. I met their teachers. I know Corey's teacher but not Chance's.
Today required only two trips to town. This morning I went to mom's for our yard sale. Then went home and got ready for Corey's baseball game. In between, I took Chance and Kel to football practice and went back to mom's to clean up the yard sale items.
Corey' s team lost 5 to 4. They play again tomorrow at 9:30, 11:00, and 2 or 3 ish. If they win the last game, they will keep playing. It looks like another packed day.
Our house is in the last part of the drywall stage. I should be ready to start priming early next week. Of course, it would fall at the same time as school starting but oh, well. I will get it finished somehow.
Well, I have blabbed on enough.

Monday, July 20, 2009

I can't believe tomorrow night is our open house. I must go to school tomorrow and work to get my room ready. I don't lack much more. I would really like to leave there tom. night and not return until opening day. Those are my plans as of now.
We now have almost all of the house drywalled. It is kind of going slow right now. I told him I really wanted to paint before school started so we will see.
I enrolled Chance and Corey at Adair Co. schools today. Chance will go to ACES and I will find out tomorrow which school they place Corey at.... John Adair or ACES.
The boys have a pool party for their basketball team tonight from 7-9.

Friday, July 10, 2009

Corey's team won again on Wed. night. It was the bottom of the 6th inning. The score was tied 7 to 7. There were 2 outs and one runner on third base for us and Corey was up to bat. He fouled off the first pitch then here comes the second. He hit the ball over near third base and ran hard. He was safe at first and the runner scored to win the game. I was so proud of him. He has practice this morning at 8:00 and then another game tonight at 7:00.

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

My brother, his fiance, his daughter and son are here for a visit this week. This is the first time I got to see Blake, the new baby. He is cute. He seems so little as compared to Kendall but she was hefty when she was born.
Corey played baseball int he district tournament on Monday night. It was supposed to start at 7 o'clock but didn't until 7:40 then there was a controversy. That led to about 30-45 min. delay. Needless to say, we left the ballpark at 10:45. He plays again tonight, Friday night, and Saturday afternoon.
I took the boys and Brianna, my niece to the fair last night. I think they had a pretty good time. I watched some of the pageant. Kendall stayed with Chris' mom. I debated on whether or not to take herand decided against it. It was just easier.

Saturday, July 4, 2009

Kendall had her second set of tubes put in on Wed. She was fussy the rest of the day but was like a different child on Thurs. She is still doing well. She has some drainage which seems like she always has.

We went to Murfreesboro last weekend. The boys team got 2nd place. They got beat pretty bad in the final game but Chance and Kel neither played well. Oh,well, that's how is goes sometimes. It was good to get away for a night anyway. Kendall stayed with my parents.

Today is July 4th. The boys have been waiting for today for a while. They want to shoot off their fireworks. We are actually going over to Jenny, Greg, and Kel's house for a cookout. I took some steaks over earlier and am making a Pepsi cake to take.

The house keeps coming along. It is now under roof with shingles. I drove to the Bernheim Forest area to pick up an outside door for the end of the house. I got it for about 200 dollars cheaper than anywhere else. On Monday, the electrician is coming to do the wiring and the amish are going to put the siding on. Then about middle of the week they will be ready to start on the inside with drywall. The guy that is doing it likes to get things done. I am glad. I want to be able to paint and get it mostly finished by the time I have to go back to school.

The New Addition

Here are a few pictures of the construction right now at my house. We are adding two baths and two bedrooms with the upstairs completely open. It is coming along. I think we will have over 3,000 square feet when we are done.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

It has been busy. I think I say that every time. Corey made the baseball All-Stars. He wanted to play this year so we are letting them. Chance and Corey both are playing on a 5th-6th grade basketball team. We travel to Murfreesboro, TN on Sat. and Sun. Chance is also playing on an 8th grade basketball team. He plays with them tomorrow.
The builders have been busy this week. They laid the blocks, roughed in some plumbing, put down the subfloor, and stubbed up two walls. The trusses are supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Things are progressing. I really hope I am able to get it painted before school starts. Chance is wanting a Kentucky room and Corey a Louisville room. We shall see. I will try to put some pictures on tomorrow night or early next week.
Kendall is talking about the potty so we went to Wal-Mart and bought a Pooh potty chair. She has been going and sitting on the potty at the daycare. Also, she has started to tell me that she peed (spelling, doesn't look right) or pooped sometimes. We are making steps in the right direction.

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Busy day today!
Kendall went to the ear doctor today. She has to get her tubes put back in which I figured. She has had 3-4 ear infections in the ear where the tube came out. I don't want her to have to have it done again but it is for the best. Chance went to the orthodontist today also. He got his mouth piece for the bottom teeth to hold his bottom and top teeth apart. This will allow his canine tooth to move into the correct place.
When I got home, we started on digging the footer to our addition. It is finished and they are coming to pour the footer tomorrow. I'm excited to get started.
I then took a quick bath and headed to school for a site base meeting. We rehired a teacher that was cut last year due to funding. Also, we are going to have another position open. Our librarian is leaving which allows the 2nd grade teacher to move into that position. Other teachers are wanting to move grades so we will see what happens (like maybe K to 2nd.) Also, the 1st grade teacher has moved to be in with my 3rd and 4th grade team. I figured she would. I hope you are getting all this S.W. I am saying it without actually saying it. Ha!
Chance plays basketball with the 8th graders tomorrow and Sat. in Glasgow so you know where I will be.

Monday, June 15, 2009

Kendall favorite thing now, Books! She gets one and goes around saying, "Read that." It is cute. She is really trying to put together words. I am taking her to the doctor in a little while. Her ear is draining, eyes mattering, and nose running. I take her to the ear doctor on Thursday. I am sure they will want to put her tube back in.

Chance got braces on Thursday. He looks so much older with them. He only got the top ones put on and then he has to get a piece for the bottom to keep his top teeth and bottom teeth apart so one tooth can move over into place. Then eventually he will get the bottom brackets put on. They were very expensive for a whole set.

Monday, June 8, 2009

We are back from Covington, actually the tournament was in Florence, KY. We had a good time even though we only won 1 game and lost 3 games. They played the number 5 team in the nation. Our team scored 24 points and Chance scored 20 of them. Several coaches from other teams were really interested in him playing with them. Maybe in the future but for now we will just stick with our team. Corey came in the last game we played and scored 4 points. He did really good. I was proud of them both.
Kendall stayed with Chris' mom Sat. morning and then my mom picked her up. She stayed all night with them and they went to church Sun. Mom had been yard saling on Friday and Saturday mornings and bought her several things. She was really excited about the "new" toys.

Thursday, June 4, 2009

School is out and I am excited. We are going to have several changes at our school this year. We have had two teachers to move schools so far and a possibility of two more. That may cause major changes. We will have to wait and see. The boys had a ball tournament last weekend in Lebanon, TN in which they won 2nd place. This weekend we are traveling to Covington, KY to play in another tournament and then in two weeks to Cincinnati, OH for another.
The builder came on Tuesday and squared off the dimensions for our addition. I think he will start late next week or early the next week. I am ready. We are building on 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a room upstairs for the boys to hang out. I am ready for it. Finally, Kendall will have her own room and a place for her toys.
I took Chance to the dentist today to get his tooth. He was somewhat worried about the shot, but he did great. He said that it didn't even hurt. He also got his front tooth fixed again where he chipped it off AGAIN.
Kendall is doing good. I had to take her to the doctor on Tuesday. She has another ear infection in the ear where the tube came out. We go on the 19th to see Dr. Ewing and I am sure he will want to put the tube back in. Poooey! She is really trying to talk. It is funny.
My grandmother had her breast removed two weeks ago. She is still somewhat weak from the surgery. I haven't been able to help her out much due to our busy schedule.

Monday, May 18, 2009

It's been a rough few days. My mom's brother, my uncle passed away. Also, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had two sisters that also had breast cancer. She is really upset. It has been really hard to deal with since I am really close to her.

It has been a beautiful Friday and Saturday. The boys invited their friend Kel to come over. He spent the night Friday and Saturday nights. Chris and I took them to watch the movie The Fast and Furious. They didn't really want to go at first because they thought it wasn't any good. After the movie they stated that it was really good. Then we took them to Laker Lanes and they bowled two games. We got home at around 10:30. They pretty much went straight to bed. Chris's mom kept Kendall for us.
I did laundry most of the day yesterday. I finally got a chance to sit down and draw up the plans for our addition to the house. Hopefully, we will get that started soon. I dug up a few unwanted trees in our landscaping yesterday. They just decided to come up on their own.
Well, today's plans include getting my grades on the computer and taking the boys to basketball practice then Corey to baseball practice.

Monday, April 13, 2009

Easter went well. Kendall was funny hunting eggs. She would run and just pass them up. Then she would finally pick one up while dumping others out of her basket.

Chance and Corey looked handsome in their shirts. We had a big meal at my mom and dad's house consisting of meatloaf, country ham, mashed potatoes, garden corn (frozen from last year), pinto beans, mexican cornbread, pea salad, potato salad, rolls and for dessert- dirt cake, chess bars, choc. chip cheesecake bars, and banana split cake. Delicious!

Friday, April 10, 2009

I think I have the last doctors' appointments in. I actually had to take Chance this morning. We went to the health dept. to get his shot and physical on Thurs. They made a mistake in the scheduling and didn't allow enough time for a physical so needless to say we had to come back today. I was a little tiffed. Today was the only day I didn't have to go to town or somewhere but oh, well. Corey got his braces off yesterday. He goes next Thursday for his retainer. Chance is scheduled to go the first part of June to get his braces. One out and the other in.

SPRING BREAK!!!
Well, it is great to be off on spring break if only the weather would cooperate. Sunday was absolutely wonderful with 75- 80 degrees then yesterday it was in the 30's. What a change! I have been in the cleaning out mood. I really want to get things cleaned up and out of the house before we start building on. The top bunk on the bunk beds broke a few weeks ago so Corey has been sleeping on the mattress in the floor. I took the top bunk apart and took the wood to my mom. She may reuse some of the pieces. I also took down the baby bed in Chance's room which Kendall never sleeps in. It was just taking up space.
I took Kendall back to Dr. Winit's on Monday to check up on her ear. All of the drainage is gone but it is still a little red. He put her on the antibiotic for 10 more days, that will be 20 days in all. I went for my yearly check up today, all went well. Then on Thurs. Chance goes for his 6th grade physical and shot and the orthodontist. Corey also has an orthodontist check up that day. He gets his braces off and a retainer to keep his front teeth together while his other teeth come in.
I really need to remove the shrubs on the right side of the house this week if possible. I want to have that done so they are not waiting on me. I definitely want to keep them. That is too much money to throw away. I think I will replant them in the back along the deck then I will buy more for around the house after it is finished. We will see. Gotta go!

Life Goes On.....

Well, hello again! Life has been very busy lately and has seemed to go on and on and on. the boys have played basketball for several weekends in a row. Corey's team has won 3 tournaments and Chance's team has won 2. They both played in Louisville this past weekend at a place called Hoops. It is a facility with 7 courts, a workout room, game room, Papa John's pizza, and 2 shops. It is an experience. Both the 4th and 5th grade teams won. It was exciting. Chance's team just blew out every team they played. The final score of the championship game was 58-19. Chance scored 25 points. Corey's team just won by 1 point for the championship game. He really came to life at the end when they needed him. He scored 6 points in a row to put them back in the lead.
Kendall is growing like a weed. She has been sick the past few days. Her eyes, nose, and ears have been draining. Hopefully, she is on the mend. She stayed with my mom when we went to Louisville. That helped me out a lot. Well, until next time, whenever that may be........

Thursday, February 5, 2009

Two snow days in a row! I really wasn't expecting to be off any but I will take them. I didn't get much accomplished yesterday because Chance had ball practice at 12 with the middle school and then at 2 with his 5th and 6th grade team. So, he practiced for a little over 4 hours.
This past weekend, Chance's team won their little league tournament. Chris is one of his coach and it was his birthday when they won.
Corey made the All Star team for his league and has been practicing twice a week. They play in Glasgow this weekend.
Chance also made is All Star team. It may conflict some with the 5th and 6th grade team that he is already playing on. We will just see.
Kendall has been on an antibiotic for almost a week and her nose has started running again. This morning her nose is really running and her eyes are watering. That seems like allergies so wonder what she is allergic to. She seems to have something going on all the time.

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

We have been out of school for the past two days due to the icy weather and will be out tomorrow also. It has rained, sleeted, snowed, and iced here for the past few days. I haven't accomplished much but oh, well.
Kendall is kind of sick again with congestion and coughing. I was going to take her today but with the weather, I just called the doctor and asked for them to call her something in. They gave her an antibiotic (which I knew she needed), cough/congestion medicine, and I refilled her albuterol for the nebulizer. She is asleep at the moment which may not be so good when it comes to bedtime. But she was fussy and sleepy, I think because of her medicine. Hopefully, this will get her well.
This past Sat. I took Chance to Lexington to play in the 6th grade State Tournament. The facility (5 courts) was a lot like the place Corey played at last year in Louisville (7 courts), but just not as nice. They lost both games but the first game was a tight one. The second one was a blow out.
Chris has been cutting and dying Chance's hair. It is blondish-red! The cut looks pretty good though. Corey wouldn't let him cut his. He really needs it cut.

Monday, January 12, 2009

This makes two Mondays in a row that I have missed school because Kendall has been sick. She was getting over the pneumonia last week and she is throwing up today. She started throwing up at around 9:30 last night and then all night long. She is really weak and pale today. She has thrown up twice this morning. I went to town and got her some pedialyte. She has kept that down so far. I also bought some of the popsicles but they aren't frozen yet. Hopefully she will get better as the day goes on.
Chance's team lost for the first time on Sat. Chris was a little upset about that. They got beat by a last second shot. Chance scored 29 of the 35 points. Corey's team won. He scored 24 or so of the 35 points for his team. He also played in Casey Co. Sat. night but they got beat. They just went to have fun and get some experience. They had not even practiced or anything. They did pretty good considering they hadn't practiced.

Sunday, January 4, 2009

Christmas Break.... well not really. Kendall went to the doctor 3 times over the break. The last time resulted in a 3 1/2 day stay in the hospital. She had a bad bronchitis that went into pneumonia. She was in breathing distress. She was wheezing with every breathe. I was actually thinking we would be staying longer. She really hadn't stopped wheezing completely when Dr. Winit let us go home. I was thankful though. It was a very tough time for me physically and mentally. She is so used to getting down and playing and running around but she couldn't get down at the hospital. The nurses put an IV in her right hand, a oxygen/pulse monitor on her right big toe, and she had oxygen in her nose. Needless to say, she was not comfortable. I was constantly trying to keep her occupied and pacified. She seems to be doing better now but she is not completely well. I am planning on taking off a couple of days to stay with her just in case. I definitely don't want her to end up back in the hospital.
Chance and Corey are doing well, thank goodness. We are looking at a busy week with basketball with them. The only free night is Friday night. Here is the schedule:
Monday- Chance 6th grade game 4:00, Corey practice 6:00
Tuesday- Chance practice 6:30
Wednesday- Chance practice 5:00
Thursday- Corey game 6:00
Friday- OFF
Saturday- Corey game 11:30, Chance game 12:45, Chance is supposed to have a 6th grade tournament at Wayne Co. this day also. We shall see what happens.
